From Segantini to Balla, Divisionism between Turin and Milan

Accorsi Museum, Turin
IThe Accorsi-Ometto Museum presents an exhibition that aims to explore, through forty-six works selected according to a high qualitative and historical criterion, the paths of Divisionism starting from the epicenter of Italian Divisionist painting: Piedmont and Lombardy.
Divisionism was a fundamental movement in Italian artistic life and
culture, fully inserted, with an autonomous role, in the European figurative trends of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The importance of the study of light and the use of pure colors, spread in textures of dots and dashes, were the elements that traced the reaction to realism in the direction of symbolism and socio-humanitarian themes.
