Luci da Brera

Bottegantica is pleased to present the exhibition project Lights from Brera. Bottegantica has selected five promising students of the chair of Painting held by Ignazio Gadaleta at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts - for over two centuries a forge of extraordinary artists, such as Francesco Hayez, Giovanni Segantini, Lucio Fontana, Marino Marini, Vanessa Beecroft -, proposing them in an exhibition/manifesto in order to make them known to the general public.
The five artists are Yuki Aoki (1974, Giappone); Erika Bellanca (1992, Italia); Elias Bertoldo (1994, Italia); Saeed Naderi (1981, Iran) e Arjan Shehaj (1989, Albania).

The works, which will be exceptionally presented in virtual form through the viewing room section - enriched by interviews and in-depth content - contemplate different forms of expression that activate the persistence of painting, as an inexhaustible and inexhaustible language. The viewer is thus placed in a position to reflect on the concept of 'continuity' of art, and to contemplate its history as it unfolds.
With this exhibition, Bottegantica carries on the modern and contemporary laboratory (Lab contemporary) born in 2018 with the exhibition Ottocento Contemporaneo. Two generations compared and with exhibition called Fresh Kiss. Pascale Marthine Tayou in collaboration with the Galleria Continua (April 2018).
The five artists, coming from different countries of the world, will dialogue together through a universal language, dictated by the absence of words and by emotional and sensitive understanding. Light and its innumerable chromatic derivations will be at the center of this exhibition which proposes a journey around the world.
"Bottegantica strongly believes in the promotion of art and new artists, and it does so even more now by allowing you to visit an exhibition, which was supposed to be open to the public, online" - explains Enzo Savoia, founder of Bottegantica. "Through this exhibition we want to give our support to culture and young artists, promoting the light of their talent globally, because it is also from art, knowledge and beauty that the rebirth of a country passes".
“Being authentic and questioning the present” - declares Ignazio Gadaleta - “these are the actions that update painting and characterize the lucidly self-disciplinary exercises of these young artists”.
