The mind elsewhere; De Chirico and De Pisis, an exhibition held at Palazzo San Francesco of Domodossola, dissects the theme of the mind elsewhere, of the dream.
For the first time these two great masters will be seen in comparison with the Neapolitan still lifes of the seventeenth century. The mind elsewhere proposes an evocative dialogue not only between the still lifes of De Chirico and De Pisis, but also with the 17th century Neapolitan still lifes of Giovanni Battista, Giuseppe Recco and Giovanni Battista Ruoppolo. These works inspired De Pisis and, in part, also De Chirico. The exhibition explores the theme of the mind elsewhere, of the dream, a key theme also for the second edition of Domosofia which will be held in Domodossola at the end of September.
