Pleasures and Days, BOLDINI

Petit Palais, Paris
The Petit Palais in Paris dedicates an important exhibition to the Italian artist Giovanni Boldini (1842-1931) after over sixty years from the last exhibit dedicated to the painter in France. Yet, this virtuoso portraitist was one of the most famous artists in Paris at the turning of the 20th century; a keen observer of the Parisian high society which he himself admired and frequented.
An evocative and immersive scenography leads the viewer through a rich exhibition itinerary of 150 works, including paintings, drawings, prints, costumes and fashion accessories which are on loan from international museums and numerous private collections. Through Boldini's œuvre, the exhibit invites viewers to live again the pleasures of the Belle Époque and the effervescence of a capital at the peak of modernity.
