The Falconiera Season is an exhibition dedicated to the Tuscan period of the Ferrarese painter that takes inspiration from a cycle of tempera wall paintings that Boldini executed for a villa in Pistoia.

At the end of the 1860s, Giovanni Boldini completed a cycle of tempera wall paintings at Villa La Falconiera, which at that time belonged to the English patron Isabella Falconer. The frescoes, due to various vicissitudes after their completion in 1868, were forgotten, but remain a unique testament to the painter's production as well as to the the Macchiaioli style, to which Boldini adhered, in a personal way, before his move to Paris in 1871.
